Wight Crystals weren’t quite up with the lark, with a luxurious 6am start to the day to get to the Palasesto rink in time for their official practice. Wight Jewels followed on at 8am, with both teams back at Hotel St John by 10.30am.
Coach Terri Smith is happy with the skaters’ performances, and the teams are geared up for this afternoon’s programmes. The whole advanced novice event takes place this afternoon, after the official opening ceremony, followed by the short programmes for the junior and then senior events.
Thanks to Hotel St John for arranging packed breakfasts for the Crystals, and to Nottingham Synchronized Skating Academy for their best wishes and support.
Good luck Crystals and Jewels. Shame we can’t watch you on livestream at home, but will be thinking of you and know you will all be amazing! Deborah Coeshott
