The highest number of adult skaters to compete for the IW in many years was on the ice for the Bracknell Adult Opens on 28 June.
Steve Wood skated for the first time in a mainland competition, skating a strong routine in spite of technical hitches with the music.
Steve Taverner was placed third with his free skating programme and Carol Taverner came second with her “Old Lady” routine from Barnum, narrowly missing retaining The Belgrove Trophy.
Head coach Terri Fleming said: “Ice skating isn’t just for children. Our adults are very skilled, and this year at our club competition won the spirit of the competition trophies, showing that this sport is for every one.
“Well done for winning more medals for the Isle Of Wight.”
