The IWID&FSC’s AGM now takes place tonight (Friday 18 May) in the rink office, Planet Ice Ryde, at 6.30pm. This is a last minute change to the venue.
The AGM is important because it decides who is on the committee for the following year. Although the closing date for nominations has passed, places on the committee are still potentially available because fewer than 10 nominations have been received. No nomination has been received for the position of secretary, and this will need to be resolved at the meeting.
This year the AGM will also vote on a revised constitution for the club. If accepted, the revisions will then need to be approved by NISA in order for the club to remain affiliated with NISA.
Any club member aged 14 or over can vote at the AGM. Ten members need to be present for the meeting to be quorate, and the new constitution will only be passed if a two-thirds majority votes in its favour.
