IW senior team Wight Jewels competed at the Mozart Cup in Salzburg on 26 to 28 January. The team skated cleanly in both their short and free programmes, scoring 20.14 in the short and 41.42 in the free, for a total of 61.56 and 13th place overall. The team competes next at the Trophy D’Ecosse in Dumfries.

The other British team in the senior event, Team Viola of Cardiff, scored 84.70 overall for 10th place.

Score for both the Jewels and Viola were down from the recent British championships, where they scored 74.54 (12.98 difference) and 99.54 (14.84 difference) respectively.

Former Wight Jewel Beth Howarth skated for senior team Nova of Australia at the Mozart Cup. Nova scored 88.80 overall for 9th place.
