Black Diam’s set French record

Black Diam’s, the French synchronized skating team entered for the 2014 Junior World Challenge Cup in Neuchatel on 6 to 8 March, set a national record at the French junior championships in Wasquehal on 28 February to 2 March, scoring 119.97.

The score will be of particular interest to Nottingham Icicles, who go up against Black Diam’s at the JWCC, with a British championship score of 121.46 set in January at Sheffield. Assuming that all things are equal under IJS scoring, that indicates it should be close between the teams on Friday and Saturday.

In the same event at the French championships, junior teams Jeanne d’Arc scored 92.33 and Les Cometes scored 79.69. Wight Jewels go up against Les Cometes at the Trophy D’Ecosse in Dumfries on 14 to 16 March with a British championship score of 92.18 behind them. Again, it will be interesting to see how domestic championship scores hold up in ISU events.
