Two former IW skaters took part in the Mary Groombridge Friendship Trophy for ice dance couples at Lee Valley Ice Centre on 14 October.

Brother and sister Henry and Charlotte Aiken were both competing in different events: Henry in the juniors with new partner Mina Zdravkova, and Charlotte in the seniors with partner Josh Whidborne.

Both couples came away with gold. Mina and Henry won the juniors event with a score of 84.15, and Charlotte and Josh won the seniors event with a score of 127.19, their best score this season.

Charlotte and her brother Henry learned to skate on the Isle of Wight, representing the IW in mainland competitions in their early years as solo skaters. Both couples now represent Lee Valley, where they train with coach John Dunn.
