Nottingham Shadows were first to skate in the novice synchronized skating competition, scoring 30.81. The team has been unchallenged in the UK for some time at championship level, but this year faced competition from IW team the Wight Crystals and Solway Breeze of Dumfries.

Skating for the first time at novice level in the British championships, IW team the Wight Crystals scored a total of 26.58, after a deduction of 1.00. It earned them bronze after Solway Breeze turned in a confident skate to take silver with a score of 29.83.
