Nottingham Icicles skated first in the junior short synchronized skating competition, scoring 22.77, to improved markedly on their score achieved at the Welsh championships.

Wight Jewels, with a fall during an intersection, scored 21.79, promising a very close contest in the long programme. Without the one-point deduction for the fall, the two teams would have been separated by just 0.02 points.
