IW synchronized skating team the Wight Jewels set off for Lyon in France tonight to compete in the 2nd French Masters de Patinage Synchronise, which takes place on 6 and 7 November 2010. The Jewels will be competing at junior level.

The French masters are a great opportunity for the team to meet other international competitors and to get in some challenging practice before the British championships later this month (22-27 November). The masters form part of the selection process for French teams hoping to compete in the junior world synchronized skating championships in Neuchatel, Switzerland, on 11 to 13 March 2011.
