Junior-level synchronized skating team the Wight Jewels have been selected by NISA to represent Great Britain at the Junior World Challenge Cup 2010 in Göteborg, Sweden, on 11 to 13 March. Selection for the competition, which is the world championship at junior level, follows the Jewels’ victory at the British Synchronized Skating Championships.
At the competition the Wightlink-sponsored Jewels aim to beat their current personal best score of 90.79, with the object of achieving 100 total points (or 35 points in the short programme alone) to earn a place on NISA’s development programme.
Attending the competition will cost the team around £10,000. Individuals or businesses that wish to make a donation to help the girls get to Göteborg should contact Sharon Buckman on 07790 359510.
