Planet Ice’s Christmas show this year is the Wizard of Oz, which takes place on Saturday 12 December and Sunday 13 December, and features young skaters from the Isle of Wight.
There are two performances on the Saturday. Doors open at 2pm for the show starting at 3pm, and doors open at 5:30pm for the show starting at 6:30pm. There is just one show on the Sunday, with doors opening at 2pm for the show starting at 3pm. Tickets are £6.50 (adult), £4.00 (child) and £17.00 (family of four).
For tickets and information, contact Planet Ice on 01983 615155.
Additionally this year there is a special fund raising gala for the synchronized skating teams on Wednesday 30 December. Two teams from the Isle of Wight are competing internationally in Switzerland in January 2010. The Swiss event is particularly important for the Wight Jewels, who are trying to obtain the necessary qualification scores that will enable them to represent Great Britain at the Junior World Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, in March. More details about this gala will be available shortly. As the synchro teams are not performing in the Wizard of Oz, the gala will be the only chance to see them in action before the Swiss competition. Please give this event and the teams every possible support.
