Guildford Opens on 3 to 5 July saw five IW skaters take podium places.

Yelena Brown was first and Ellie Taylor third in the Willows Cup (B) for beginner girls aged under 10.

Archie Bicknell was first in the Courtenay Cup for level two boys.

In the artistic events, Kate Nutbourne was third in the Cedar Trophy for level one and under, and Gemma Marsh was third in the Artistic Cup for level four and five.

‘These performances and results demonstrate the strength in depth of the club and show again that we on the Island can produce the goods against anyone in the country,’ said Island coach Terri Fleming.

Members of the IWID&FSC train at Planet Ice, Ryde, on a daily basis with classes and lessons open to all skaters whatever their proficiency levels. Membership of the club is available to both skaters and non-skaters.

Club skaters will be competing at several more national competitions in the coming months.
