Last week three teams from the Isle of Wight travelled to London to take part in the Skate London Synchro Opens 2019 at Alexandra Palace.

Alexandra Palace is an iconic London Landmark, with 196 acres of parkland, and an international sized Ice Rink.

The Isle of Wights youngest team Wight Sequins skated in the pre-juvenile category for the first time. They came third in their category taking home a bronze medal.

Wight Sparkles skated in the basic novice category. They skated strongly to a medley of Spice Girl songs winning them a Silver medal and a personal best score.

Wight Crystals skated in the mixed age category. They just missed out on a medal by coming in fourth place. It was a strong competitive category with some very experienced teams. They did however get a personal best score.

The Wight Sequins, Wight Sparkles and Wight Crystals will compete next at the British Synchronised Skating Championships in January in Nottingham.
