Sheffield IJS competitions take place this week at iceSheffield from 24 to 28 August. Three IW skaters are taking part: Will Riley in the basic novice A men, which has nine entrants; Toni Delap in the basic novice A ladies, which has 59 entrants; and Nikita Heathfield in the junior ladies, which has 42 entrants.
Nikita will be aiming to improve on her PB of 29.68 in the short at Dundee IJS (14 to 16 August) and iron out the wrinkles in her new free programme, which scored 37.21 (Dundee results: http://www.icephoto.co.uk/DISCOpen2015/index.htm)
Gosport skater and IW synchro team member Amy World competes in the advanced novice ladies, which has 29 entrants.
Update: Nikita qualified for the long programme in the junior ladies, coming 21st in the short with 26.90. Overall, she finished 24th, scoring 42.14 in the free for 69.04 in total. Will was 8th in the basic novice A men, scoring 16.25, and Toni was 41st in the basic novice A ladies scoring 19.45. Amy qualified for the free in the advanced novice ladies, scoring 20.44 for 18th position in the short; her 30.98 in the free meant that she finished 21st overall with 51.42.
