The European Figure Skating Championships get under way this week in Stockholm (26 February to 1 February).

We understand that Sweden’s Team Surprise is due to be skating in the exhibition at the end of the event, performing their free programme and a special gala number. It will be quite something if their emotionally charged free programme themed around equality gets TV coverage: perhaps it will help the Olympic committee decide that synchro deserves a place upon the ultimate winter sports stage. The team, GB member Gemma Marsh included, are also helping at the event during the week, scanning tickets (so there’s your IW link for this event 🙂 ).
