Live coverage of the British Figure Skating Championships this week is available only through NISA TV, which is free to NISA members. It is also possible to buy daily or whole event access.
There is no synchro, which is back to having its own championships on 18 and 19 January 2014.
In ice dance, there are IW connections with sister and brother Charlotte and Henry Aiken. Henry and partner Mina Zdravkova are due to skate in the junior dance from 15.00 on Friday 29 November and from 14.06 on Saturday 30 November. Charlotte and partner Josh Whidborne are due to skate in the senior dance from 15.32 on 29 November and from 17.51 on 30 November. Times are according to the current timetable but may change.
Unfortunately, as it turned out, Charlotte and Josh withdrew. Presumably they have yet to overcome their training injury and get back on top form. In the juniors, Mina and Henry were in third place after the short dance on 30.72.
In the free dance, Mina and Henry, skating to music from the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland, scored 48.05 for a total of 78.77 and second place overall. In first place by a considerable margin, however, were Olivia Smart and Joseph Buckland, who stretched a commanding lead of 18.14 in the short (50.43 points) to a humungous lead of 49.94 after the long (free 78.28, total 128.71).
