Skate Southern, formerly known as the Southern IJS, gets under way at Alexandra Palace in north London on 22 September and runs until 26 September.
A number of IW skaters took part, and their results are as follows:
In the beginner ladies age 10 and over, the IW secured the top two places, with Lauren Wood taking first on 11.01 and Ayesha Taylor just two-hundredths of a point behind in second on 10.99. Saphire Recalde-Arnold was seventh with 9.16. Jordan Pointer was fifth in the beginner men (5.51).
Toni Delap took first in the level 1 ladies with 15.48, with Sophie-Rose Broadley-Darby fourth on 14.09, Beth Howarth in sixth on 13.53 and Ella Newnham in 14th on 10.45.
In the level 2 ladies, Roxy Collins was sixth on 14.26 and Nicola Baxter 10th with 11.90.
Emily-Jayne Calvo was 17th in the level 3 ladies, with 9.85; Keelin Scholes was 20th in the level 4 ladies with 11.42; Charlotte Chapman was 19th in the level 5 ladies with 15.64.
Gosport skater and IW synchro team member Amy World continued her winning form after moving up a level, taking first in the level 6 ladies with 26.55.
Archie Bicknell was second in the level 9 men’s short (18.14) and second in the level 9 men’s free (42.81). Nikita Heathfield was 23rd in the level 8 ladies short group 2 (13.33), but 14th in the level 8 free group 2 with 32.89.
