Although attention this week is very much focused on the junior world synchronized skating championships in Helsinki on 7 to 9 March, there is still plenty happening in the synchronized skating calendar. The Trophée des Hauts de France gets under way in Valenciennes on 9 to 10 March, and sees three teams from the UK taking part.

All the UK representatives are from Lee Valley: Aura skates in the junior category, Phoenix in the mixed aged category, and Orion at adult level. Lee Valley Aura, of course, proved sportsmanlike in giving up training time at their rink to Wight Jewels last year, and iowskaters.com wishes them all the best in France.
