A skating gala will be held at Planet Ice Ryde on Wednesday 25 July to help send IW junior synchronized skating team the Wight Jewels to train with Andrea Dohany, the coach of senior world champions Team Surprise, in Sweden.
The show starts at 5.30pm and will last for about an hour. It will feature top Island skaters plus special guests, and present another “very last chance” to see the Wight Jewels perform Jai Ho, plus the Isle of Wight’s stunning show entry, the Lion King, from the recent National Team Challenge.
Tickets cost £3 each. For group bookings, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
All proceeds will go towards the Jewels’ travel expenses for this essential and valuable week of training this August. A few years ago half the team travelled to Hungary to train with Andrea, and greatly benefited from the experience: it undoubtedly helped them climb up the world rankings.
On the day there will also be fun outside the rink from 12 noon – all are welcome! This will include a bouncy castle, face painting, a tombola and music. Refreshments will be available.
