IW synchronized skating teams the Wight Jewels and Wight Crystals head off tomorrow for the Spring Cup in Milan, held at the PalaSesto ice rink, Sesto San Giovanni. The competition itself takes place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February.

The Jewels compete at junior level against teams from the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA. The Crystals compete at novice level against teams from Italy, Russia and Sweden.

Internet connections permitting, iowskaters.co.uk will be reporting on the teams’ progress each day.
