Planet Ice, the Isle Of Wight Ice Dance & Figure Skating Club and the rink coaches are happy to announce there will be a Christmas Ice Show this year. This year’s show will contain live opera on ice, which will be performed by guest skaters brought in to do so. Our show will run as normal with the opera numbers included.

Our show will not be themed this year; therefore it can include something for everyone.

Limited ice and rehearsal time mean that we will be choreographing only three group numbers for our beginners and intermediate standard skaters. Our more advanced skaters will be included in our synchronized performance, group routines and solo performances (if chosen). Soloists will be decided on results from our annual artistic competition in October and on NISA tests passed.

If you wish to be included please make sure:

• You currently have private lessons or group Galaxy Glider lessons at Planet Ice Ryde;
• You are available to do all the shows on all the days – Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December;
• You are dedicated to all practices and rehearsals – 100% commitment is essential;
• You are a member of the skating club (forms can be obtained from your coach). Membership of IWIDFSC is required for insurance reasons;
• You can bring a £2 fee for every rehearsal including dress rehearsals;
• You can purchase tights (female skaters); and
• You can contribute towards your own costume(s).

Practices will be:

Saturdays, 9.30-10.00am – all beginners minimum level 4 to level 10 Skate UK grades.
Sundays, 10.00-10.30am – all intermediate skaters level 10 to NISA level 2 standard, 10 years and under.
Tuesdays 5.00-6.00pm – all intermediate skaters level 10 to NISA level 2 standard, 11 years and over.
