The IW skating club’s skater of the month for July is Tegan Evans.

Tegan is nine years old and started skating when she was four. She joined the synchro team Wight Sequins when they were formed in 2016, just before our ice rink closed.

Tegan won her category in the Planet Ice artistic competition at Gosport in June with her ‘Doll on a music box’ routine. She went on to represent the IW and Gosport at the final at Milton Keynes.

At the end of June she competed in the Gosport spin, spiral and jump competition, winning her category.

She recently began having lessons with IW coach Terri Smith, and has started skating on Wednesday afternoons and evenings at Gosport, so we hope to see more great skating from Tegan in the future.
