A representative from WightAID came to off-ice training at Wootton on Thursday 2 August to present IW skaters with a cheque for £2,000.
The award was made to help cover competition fees for the coming season.
WightAID felt that all attendees of the club, including their families, put in so much time and effort to ensure the skaters attend their ice training on the mainland and that this level of commitment proudly represents the Isle of Wight.
Wight Crystals captain Izzy Curtis, speaking on behalf of the skaters, said: “We would like to say the biggest possible thank you to WightAID. Their donation will ensure we can attend national synchronized skating competitions representing the Isle of Wight this coming season, which we are all so excited and proud to do.”
WightAID is a charitable foundation that provides funding to charities, groups and organizations that aim to improve the lives of people who are living on the Isle of Wight.
