The annual scooter rally is on the weekend of 26 August, and usually involves the closure of the rink for skating for the preceding Friday and over the weekend.

The plus side as far as the webmaster is concerned is that the Frank Popp Ensemble is playing at the rally on 26 August (also known to Island coach Terri Fleming as the music that Ian was playing in the car on the way back from the Guildford opens). If your tastes run to influences of northern soul, R&B and 1960s garage, then it may be worth braving the hordes of scooterists.
